Rousing tales from Isley’s spirited past 5 – The Float of Doom I & II

Being a rambunctious sort, my past is full of tales of derring-do and mischievous insubordination. In this series I will examine specific instances of orneriness from my past so that you, the reader, might understand Isley’s special relationship with authority just a little bit better.
In today’s rousing tale I shall be looking back at the earliest incarnations of the “Float of Doom”. Now, I’ll admit, most of the inspiration came from watching Animal House at an impressionable age, but some of you may not be aware that The Float of Doom actually existed previously to its more mature (I use this word in the loosest sense possible) “college years” form. So in today’s and next week’s posts I will return to my years in Valley Center High School as I reveal the secret origins of The Float of Doom. (more…)
